Tuesday, October 13, 2020
The American Planning Association awarded the City of Mountain Home and Horrocks Engineers their Outstanding Plan Award for the 2020 Comprehensive Plan. The City's Comprehensive Plan helps guide city policies and actions across a spectrum of topics including housing, land use, community design, and public services and outlines a long-range vision for the future of Mountain Home.
“Our award-winning comprehensive plan has been an invaluable tool as the City works towards updating our development regulations”, said Brock Cherry, Mountain Home Community Development Director. “The tremendous influence the comprehensive plan has over future development policy will have long-lasting effects for years to come.”
Cherry also wants to express his appreciation for his predecessor Courtney Lewis and Peggy Breski of Horrocks Engineers for their tireless efforts in ensuring that the City of Mountain Home has a detailed plan to guide the community into the future.
This is the second consecutive year the City has been recognized by the APA for its planning efforts. in 2019, the organization awarded the City and Horrocks for the Downtown Revitalization Plan.
