Project DetailsQ: I noticed a street light on my block is not working; who can I report this to in order to have it repaired?
A: If you notice a street light, within the city limits, that needs repair, please call Public Works at 587-2108 with the nearest address to the light and/or the pole number and the information will be routed to Idaho Power for repair.
Q: I would like to report a pothole in the roadway?
A: If you notice a pothole or obstruction in the roadway, within the city limits, please call Public Works at 587-2108 with the nearest address to the pothole or obstruction. The City will send a street crew as soon as possible to take care of the problem.
Q: I need to work in the City right of way?
A: A permit must be obtained through the Developmental Services Department located at the rear of City Hall, 160 S. 3rdE. The City does require compaction testing of all base materials to eliminate failures in our right of way. The City relies on third party testing agencies such as MTI, Strata or other companies for tests which are paid for by the permit holder. Results from these tests must be submitted to the Developmental Services Department.

A: The average Calcium Carbonate or CaCO3 of all the wells combined is between 33 mg/L and 55 mg/L. Q: Is fluoride added to the city water? A: No; fluoride is naturally occurring in the city water.
Q: As a homeowner, what portion of the water line am I responsible for repair or replacement?
A: The homeowner is responsible for the water line from the meter to the house.
Q: I’m making my own repairs to a water leak in my home/sprinkler system; how do I turn water off to my house?
A: If you need water turned off to make repairs, please call 587-2108/2109 during normal business hours and a Water Department technician will be dispatched to you as soon as possible to turn the water off for you. If the leak is an after-hours emergency, the call will be forwarded to a standby technician.
Q: I have greywater coming into my house?
A: If you notice greywater coming into your home, within the city limits, please call Public Works at 587-2108 with your address. The City will send a maintenance crew member as soon as possible to assess the problem
Q: As a homeowner, what portion of the sewer line am I responsible for repair or replacement?
A: The homeowner is responsible for the portion of the sewer line from the house to the sewer main.

The Wastewater Department is responsible for the maintenance and repair of the City’s approximate 74 miles of pipe, which varies from 6″ to 24″ in diameter, collection system, wastewater treatment facility which includes eight active lagoons or cells which hold approximately 400 million gallons of wastewater and covers 206 acres and a 640 acres used for wastewater land application monitored by DEQ where the stored treated wastewater is applied to alfalfa, wheat and silage corn. The City of Mountain Home has a Class II Idaho Wastewater Treatment System and a Class III Idaho Wastewater Collection System Classification.
