CITY OF MOUNTAIN HOME RECEIVES AWARD IN COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
The City of Mountain Home has been awarded the Association of Idaho Cities (AIC) Garret Nancolas City Achievement Award for Community Engagement. The City was awarded for the partnership and active efforts for Kindness Week.
Kindness Week was created by the Mountain Home High School (MHHS) in hopes to encourage a week filled with random acts of kindness that would act as a catalyst in building an unbreakable culture of kindness at MHHS and the community. MHHS branded the week with #TigerKind.
The City of Mountain Home joined in and promoted random acts of kindness themselves. The acts of kindness lasted all week, and staff created 30 second short videos to help promote the campaign. Acts included popcorn for school district staff, donuts for students, and visiting West Elementary to start their day off with kindness. Video posts reached a total of 10,716 people and had over 1,800 posts “engagements.” Post engagements include the public liking, commenting, and sharing the videos.
AIC is a nonprofit organization formed in 1947 to advocate for cities and provide education, training, and assistance to strengthen elected officials and staff to serve their communities best.
