Anderson Ranch Reservoir
Anderson Ranch Reservoir
Back to TopThis recreational paradise is one you won't want to miss! Located on the South Fork of the Boise River about twenty miles from Mountain Home is the gem of the Idaho reservoir system. Several hiking trails run through the Anderson Ranch area for those who enjoy the journeys of mountain biking, hiking and horseback riding.
Stay for a-while at some of the nearby campgrounds and create an experience that is customized to you. North of the Reservoir are two campsites; Elks Flat and Dog Creek. Although there is an assortment of campgrounds around the Reservoir, the campgrounds at Elks Flat and Dog Creek are more popular with motorhome and recreational vehicle campers due to the level sites. If you’re looking for a day trip as opposed to an overnight stay, Anderson Ranch Reservoir is served by the areas of Pine, Fall Creek, and Featherville. With these areas, you would have access to lodging, restaurants and homey taverns.
Fishing is one of the major attractions of the Anderson Ranch. The Ranch offers some of the best fishing in the state of Idaho with the wide variety of fish such as kokanee, Rainbow trout, small mouth bass, and more. You can hit the vast waters by boat to create your own fishing experience on the open water, or stick to shore at your campsite. Avid boaters also enjoy the opportunities to water ski, wakeboard, or tubing at Anderson Ranch. For those who appreciate the more remote stretches of the shoreline, you can explore by canoe or kayak.
