Swimming Pool
Settled in Richard Aguirre Park along McKenna Drive is the community Pool of Mountain Home. It is a great hangout spot for families with children of all ages. Click here for directions to Mountain Home Public Pool. The pool house offers a secured item check in where we will gladly hold all your valuable items while you enjoy the water and sun. The pool season is typically the end of May and remains open until mid-end of August.
Important Changes Due to COVID-19:
- Guests will be able to use the changing room and shower areas while visiting our facility. Restrooms are available for guests.
- We will not provide outdoor seating for guests; this is to limit touch surface and to minimize the spread of COVID-19. We recommend you bring your own chair with you into our facility.
- City of Mountain Home swimming pool will not be allowing guests to store personal belongings in the Lifeguard area during the 2020 season. All guest will be responsible for their personal items while visiting our facility.
- Any guest personal items left at the City of Mountain Home pool facility will be disposed.

- Swimming Lessons will begin June 1st
- Water Aerobics will begin June 1st
- Circle Lap Swimming will begin June 1st (during 10 am to Noon and 4 pm to 6 pm)
- Paddleboard Yoga will begin June 2nd
- Private Pool Parties will begin June 5th
- (guests will be limited to meet the social distancing gathering guidelines)
- Public Open Swim will begin closed for 2020 season

Guest numbers will be limited during public swimming to meet social distancing measures.
Days: Monday through Thursday Times: 2-4 pm & 7-9 pm
Days: Friday, Saturday & Sunday Times: 1-5 pm & 7-9 pm
Fee: $2.00 entrance fee to all ages. Entrance fees are charged for each of the two swimming sessions.
Please be advised that there will be NO Re-entry in to Public Swimming once a guest leaves.
We will be checking temperature of all public swimming guest upon arrival if any guest with a fever at or above 100.4 F will not be permitted to enter.

Learn-to-Swim Classes
American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim Classes are available at Mountain Home Public pool in the morning and in the afternoon. Sessions run Monday through Thursday for two weeks cost is $20.00 per session. Classes are 30 minutes in length. Register now Lean to Swim class are online see available classes/times or contact the Recreation office at (208) 587-2112.
Pool Closures
Unpredictable weather or other unforeseen situations may result in our outdoor pools opening late or closing early. The pool manager will decide on closing if the following occur:
- There is a threat of violent weather or lightning (if lightning occurs for more than 30 minutes, pool will close for the rest of the swim session).
- There is a strong steady rain for over 30 minutes or turbidity is too extreme to see the bottom of the pool
- There is mechanical failure or pool chemicals are unbalanced.
- Bodily discharges such as a fecal release, blood or vomit, the pool will close for a minimum of 20 min, longer closures will be at the shift supervisor’s discretion based on quantity and dispersal.
- The number of swimmers in the water is less than 10 for at least an hour (low attendance is more likely on unseasonably cool days.)
No Refunds will be issued based on closures occurring after the session has opened.

Friday: 5:15pm – 6:45pm Cost: $125 or 9:15pm - 11:00pm Cost: $175

Pool Dress Code/Diapers
Swimsuits are required for swimming in Mountain Home Public Pool. Street clothes, undergarments, sweats, cut-offs etc. are not permitted in the pools. Children wearing diapers are welcome in the pool as long as they are wearing swim diapers.
